Pillow Rock Group, LLC is led by Chief Technologist Ranny Grubb with over 30 years of experience managing high consequence projects, defining technology strategy, organizational strategy, designing technology architecture, and implementing innovative solutions in a variety of industries including defense, state and local government, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy.
Ranny has been a consultant for over 23 years and has over 32 years of experience in the technology industry. Much of this time has been spent working with clients in local government and clients that provide high consequence nuclear products to the government. Prior to starting Pillow Rock Group, Ranny was responsible for establishing the consulting practice for a regional consultancy along with developing many of the methodologies utilized for strategic technology planning, disaster resilience planning, information security and other types of strategic consulting services. Ranny was also responsible for the implementation of a security practice focused on both physical and information security.
Prior to becoming a consultant, Ranny worked with Norfolk Southern Corporation for nine years in many roles across the organization including Chief Internet Architect responsible for all Internet infrastructure, applications and security. Ranny has a diverse background in accounting, marketing and technology as a result of working as an EDP and financial auditor for the Commonwealth of Virginia and having responsibility for marketing systems supporting global marketing operations for Norfolk Southern.
